Ray's Hardware was founded in 1949 by Ray & Lillian Brantley as a hardware specialty store. A customer traded a washtub for a 22 and the gun sold the same day for cash. The rest is history. Ray's founded a new niche and became Ray's Hardware and Spring Goods. Today, Ray's is the ultimate hunter's destination with over 10,000 square feet and over 2,000 firearms in stock.

Founded as a family-owned business, Ray's remains a family-owned business with the same values and culture embedded in our company today. Donnie and Pam Durbin continue the Ray's legacy today as the store's owners and operators. Donnie is the President of the Texas Gun Dealers Association, which is a large influence on gun owners' rights. Reid Durbin, Ray's grandson, is an integral force in the business today and strives to continue the family legacy into the future. 2008 will be the 44th year for manager Chuck Payne. He started working at Ray’s in 1964 and has been the man behind the counter for generations of customers to our store.
