Class III Information

Most consumers are not aware that Class III items are available for purchase. There are two routes to purchasing a Class III (NFA) item. One way to go is to purchase an item as an individual. The most popular method is by using a Trust or Corporation.

Individual purchases require a passport, $200.00 tax, photos, fingerprints, and signature of a chief law enforcement officer. The signature must come from the head of an agency of the county you reside in.

Purchase by a trust or corporation follows the same process as an individual purchase without the photos, fingerprints, or signatures. In addition to not needing a signature, the trust and corporation can allow more than one person to have access to the class III item.

If you choose to purchase an NFA item using a Trust; we will assist you in that process. Ray’s has an attorney who will create an NFA Firearms Trust for a modest fee.

Currently class III transfer paperwork is taking approximately 2-3 months for dealer to dealer transactions, and 5-6 months on dealer to individual transfer.

Ray’s stocks a selection of Surefire, Silencerco, and AAC suppressors.

Needing to transfer a firearm in to you?  Ray's is a Class 1 FFL License Holder as well as Class 3 SOT.
We will transfer firearms only from another FFL holder.  The charge for the first firearms is $50.00 and $15.00 each for additional firearms.

Thank you!
